Plan a Haiti Fundraiser Screening

Set Up a Screening to Raise Funding for Haiti Earthquake Relief:

How do I set up a screening?
How do I sell DVDs at my event (bulk discount)?

How do I set up a screening?

With the recent devastating events in Haiti, we feel compelled to make The Road To Fondwa available for others as a way to express their support and solidarity with those who are experiencing this great tragedy first hand.

How to set up a screening of The Road to Fondwa at your school/work/church/local cafe/book club/etc:

1) E-mail us. There may be others in your community setting up an event as well, we will put you in touch. We will also add your event’s details to our website once they are solidified.

2) Secure a venue. Find a place with a screen, some audio equipment (i.e. speakers), and some chairs. Depending on how large your event will be, consider: the local independent movie theater; a conference room at your office; a classroom at your school; your living room; the local cafe/pub.

3) Order a DVD at Amazon.com, or 10. All it takes is 1 DVD to put on your event, please click here to order now from Amazon.com. Also, see the next section on this page about making even more of an impact by selling DVDs & CDs at your event – buy a pack of 10+ DVDs at cost and sell them at your event.

4) Promote. If you are on facebook, set up an event. Here is an example you can copy. Send an e-mail to all your friends, ask them to do the same.

5) Collect Funds. A suggested donation of $5-10 seems to work well. If you are at a school, consider giving students a discount. Dedicate at least one person to greeting people and collecting donations at the door.

6) Follow up. We’d love to hear about your successful event!

Other optional ideas: provide wine & snacks and suggest a higher donation; ask the venue if you can use it free of charge; get a local business to match the funds you raise; involve your university’s local alumni club; invite a local speaker to talk about Haiti
